There is a lightness to Paradoxe that disguises its complexity. Neroli opens it — clean, bright, almost citrus — with bergamot and mandarin moving beside it like light on water. Nothing about this opening suggests what follows, which is, perhaps, the point.
Jasmine absolute arrives unhurried, richer than its introduction implied. Iris brings a coolness, a structural precision, that keeps the heart from tipping into sweetness. Amber and sandalwood take the base somewhere warmer, the white musk extending everything into a quiet, uninsistent trail.
