Y is Yves Saint Laurent at its most direct. Bergamot opens it with the kind of clarity that needs no introduction — precise, clean, immediately recognizable as something considered rather than assembled. Ginger adds warmth from the first moments; apple keeps the opening from tipping toward anything too heavy.
Geranium and juniper in the heart are the composition's structural spine: aromatic, slightly sharp, and deeply modern. There is nothing nostalgic about Y. Cedar and amberwood in the base are equally precise — woody without being dusty, warm without being sweet. Vetiver adds a final note of rootedness that keeps everything grounded.
